I wrote about an article I'd seen from Canadian online platform Flare that discussed the necessity of creating platforms specifically for women of color. A critique was raised that platforms like Glossier Brown and Refinery 29 Unbothered do more to ostracize women of color from the mainstream narrative, a term the article referred to as "othering."

I wrote a piece about this hoodie that took the fashion world and the black community by storm! I discussed the fashion industry's tendency to extract trends and aesthetics from black and brown communities, call the origin of said trends ghetto and praise those same trends on white or racially ambiguous women.
