Last night was a fun one. Black families and online communities gathered together for the viewing of the 2017 BET Awards. It's always a night full of laughs and roasts, jams, discussions of the state of black music, educating youngsters on real music/ legends, honoring black excellence, black girl magic and black boy joy. I'm still hype from New Edition's epic Lifetime Achievement performance and Chance inspiring us all with his Humanitarian Award speech!
We all know when black people come together, they step out in style and come to give looks. & that's one of my favorite parts of these awards shows.
Check out some of the best looks of the evening!
The looks on Sex in the City were iconic (namely Carrie Bradshaw's), and Carrie loved a Manolo Blahnik shoe. While Carrie was maxing out credit cards to snatch the latest designer footwear, Rihanna has had a hand in creating the latest in designer footwear! This Rihanna x Manolo Blahnik collaboration has been one helluva collection. Carrie would lose her mind over these beauties! I've never wanted to have a pair of Manolos in my possession so much until now.
The final installment from the Rihanna x Manolo Blahnik collaboration is here! Well, the promo images are at least. The "So Stoned" collection is set to drop early next month. & this is by far my favorite installment.
& shout out to the stunner of the Rih x MB collection making it's debut in the music video for the jam of the summer, "Wild Thoughts!" I am STILL emulating my inner salsa-loving, sexy, badass seductress and will do so unapologetically all summer long (& beyond, let's be honest).
Congratulations are definitely in order to Rihanna and Manolo Blahnik for an amazing collaboration! Get your coins, sis.

I am in love with this campaign from Julia Plus for their Fall/Winter '17 collection. It's full of rich, beautiful colors and amazing pieces that give off soft, but edgy and cool vibes. These are the type of pieces that I need in my closet in preparation for my fall wardrobe.
Not to mention the campaign features these four gorgeous women giving us just the right amount of black girl magic and Brazilian flavor. Plus size models Nahuane Drumond, Bell Rocha, Isabella Bispo and Kamila Oliveira brought just the right energy to this shoot. From the rich melanin to the hairstyles, they nailed every single frame! This is the girl group you want to be a part of. This is the BGM you want to emulate!
The models along with the rich color palette of the collection and the picturesque backdrop that Brazil offers, I can't get enough of these photos.
Check them out below!
Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman is my little sister in my head! Activist, actress, style goddess, and the embodiment of cool. She is so talented and passionate, and she must be protected at all costs!
Just recently, she KILLED channeling Erykah Badu and Bruno Mars on Lip Sync Battle, is making her big screen debut on Spiderman: Homecoming, is currently filming her Disney Channel series KC Undercover, is shining in every appearance and so much more. Zendaya is working! She's probably still on cloud 9 from receiving praises from Rihanna. LL Cool J even had to give her props, even further cementing her cool girl status. "You can manufacture fame. You can manufacture publicity. You can manufacture songs. You can't manufacture cool." GET YOUR SHINE ZENDAYA! She deserves it.
& now she's landed her first Vogue cover! I'm so happy for her! The images from her spread are gorgeous! It's so clear that she's just having a great time and just living her best life; all of that energy is emulated in the photos. She even brought her nieces along to shine right alongside her and experience the fun! She opens up about her rise to fame, life in Oakland, all of the moves she's making and more. She definitely let us into her world. Check out the interview and get a glimpse into why Zendaya deserves it all!
Enjoy her spread's images below and get into the effortless cool and glow that is Zendaya, my sis!
Zendaya also gives us a little decades fashion and beauty tease! She delivers in every single look!

Willow is the youngest ambassador for Chanel and probably one of my favorites.
Willow is the ultimate cool girl. She's just so chill and dope and effortless, and she brings all of her good vibes to the latest promo installment from Chanel.
This installment features Chanel's Gabrielle bag. We get to see Willow rock a few bags and some cool looks as she explores the all that Tokyo has to offer. She takes us through the busy streets, as she explores bookstores and the Shinto shrine. Check out Willow on her adventure through the Tokyo streets in style below!

TEYONAH (& friends) GAVE ME EVERYTHING MY BLACK ASS NEEDED!
The toasted melanin. How the yellow pops severely on her skin. A bold red lip. These braidssssss!
& then her friends didn't come to play either. The way they are coordinating and complementing each other just does it for me. I don't know if they did this on purpose or not, but either way, I'm just glad they came.
This is black girl magic manifested. I can appreciate the simplicity of Teyonah's look and how it all came together rather nicely. This was a look for the culture. I love it!
I don't even have much more to say. Just get into this look.
It's only right that the Paris fashion house and Opera come together for a beautiful display of art at it's finest.
Last month, Olivier Rousteing and the Paris Opera announced that Balmain would be designing the costumes for the latest ballet performance, Renaissance by Sébastian Bertraud. As a fan of the Balmain aesthetic, I knew what was to follow from Olivier and his team wouldn't disappoint. & sure enough, the result was nothing short of breathtaking.
When talking about the collaboration, Olivier described it as "modernity meets classical, couture meets ballet." The vision from that statement alone can definitely be seen. The execution is flawless! Balmain and the Paris Opera coming together for this collaboration are a perfect match.

Well, last night was a big one for the fashion industry.
The annual CFCA Awards is almost like the Grammy in fashion. It's an evening where fashion lovers, in all of their forms, come together to celebrate and honor the boldest, most innovative, brightest figures in fashion who work to make the industry better everyday.
Last night's winners included Raf Simons (Menswear/ Womenswear Designer of the Year), Pat McGrath (Founder's Award), the late Franca Sozzani (Fashion Icon) and many more deserving recipients.
It wouldn't be right if the attendees didn't come out dresses to the nines! Check out some of the my favorite looks from the CFDA Awards below.
SPOILER ALERT! Janelle Monae bodied her look, per usual. Sis always slays!
